Terms of use

These terms apply when you use Photostr, the free photo editor at photostr.io. We've kept them short and in plain language. By using Photostr you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use it.

Photostr is run by KamranAli Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13008281), with its registered office at 12 Constance Street, London, England, E16 2DQ. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean KamranAli Limited.

Free to use

Photostr is free, and you don't need to sign up. There may be optional paid features in the future. If that happens, they'll come with their own terms, and we'll give you a heads-up before anything you depend on changes.

Your work is yours

Everything you create with Photostr belongs to you, or to whoever owns the material you started from. Your images stay on your device, so we never receive them, and we claim no rights to them. How we handle the little data we do see is explained in our privacy policy.

Using Photostr responsibly

Please don't use Photostr to break the law or to harm other people. In particular, you agree not to use it to:

Templates, elements and fonts

You can use our templates, design elements and sample photos in your personal or commercial projects, including work you make for clients. What you can't do is resell or give them away on their own, for example as a template pack or a stock photo collection.

The fonts that come with Photostr are open licensed, and you're free to use them in your designs. Their licences are listed in the editor under Help, then Credits.

AI tools

AI selection, background removal and upscaling can get things wrong. Check the results before you rely on them for anything important.

Keep your own copies

Autosaves and recent files live in your browser's storage, which you or the browser can clear. If your work matters, save a project file somewhere safe. We can't get lost work back for you, because we never have a copy.

Photostr opens and saves PSD files, but it doesn't recreate every Photoshop feature exactly. Some effects, masks and text may look slightly different or turn into pixels. Keep your original files. The PSD guide explains what to check.

Embedding the editor

You may embed the editor in your own website through its embedding interface. If you do, you're responsible for how your website handles your visitors' information.

Names and trademarks

Photostr and the Photostr logo are ours. Photoshop is a trademark of Adobe. Photostr is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Adobe. Other product names belong to their respective owners.

No guarantees

We do our best to keep Photostr running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, Photostr is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind.

Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss of work, data, profits or business that comes from using Photostr. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to exclude or limit, and if you're a consumer, your legal rights aren't affected.

Changes

Photostr and these terms may change over time. When we make significant changes to the terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We may also change or discontinue Photostr or any of its features, and we may block access for anyone who abuses it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute about them. If you're a consumer living somewhere else, you keep the protections your own country's law gives you, and you can bring a claim in your local courts where that law allows it.
